Getting your identity verified
Every company director and person with significant control now has to be verified. If you're already a director, you need it done by the time your next confirmation statement is due.
The transition ends in November 2026. After that, filing as an unverified director isn't just late — it's an offence.
Most people should do this themselves, free
It takes a few minutes through GOV.UK One Login. You'll need a passport, or a UK driving licence, and a phone. There's no charge and you don't need an accountant.

If that isn't going to work, I'll do it for you
I'm an Authorised Corporate Service Provider, registered with Companies House and supervised by the ICAEW. That means I'm allowed to check your identity in person and confirm it to Companies House directly.
That's usually the answer if:
- you haven't got the documents the online service accepts
- you'd rather not do it digitally, or it failed when you tried
- you're outside the UK
- you simply want it off your list
It takes about fifteen minutes. I'll send your personal code once it's done, and you'll never need to do it again.

And it comes off your first bill if you go on to become a client.

Verification is a one-off. Once you have your personal code it stays with you for every company you're a director of, now and in future. If you're a Maison client, we'll do it as part of getting you set up — there's nothing to arrange.
